 We're off to see the Wizard, the wonderful Wizard of Oz . . . . Can't you just hear them singing on their way to the Emerald City for Dorothy and Toto to return home, the Lion to gain courage, the Scarecrow to receive a heart, and the Tin Man to receive a brain? And, all along, Glenda, the good witch is watching and protecting them.
What an adorable rendition of this lovely story!
We start with a blue gingham dress or swing top (like Dorothy's) and make the shoulder straps with either white grosgrain ribbon OR blue gingham fabric (your choice), and add white grosgrain pin on bows. The dress/top is embellished with a white fabric panel on the chest where all the characters are embroidered. If you choose shorts, pantaloons, capris, or pants the bottoms of each leg are trimmed in the white grosgrain ribbon.
